I need to shed some light upon an excellent norwegian artist, reknown for his subversive and satirical paintings. Rolf Groven’s work often comment upon modernism and pollution, but also political injustice and bloodshed. Some of his most intriguing paintings pokes fun at old classics, giving them a twist. Banksy has received (just) praise and fame for this technique, but Groven was already way ahead.
His approach are Norwegian issues, and some points may be missed on outsiders. But there’s also lots of universal topics, so sit back and enjoy.
